Education and Training

The CYWHS contributes to the training of future generations of Australian and overseas health professionals, working collaboratively with other education and training providers and in particular with the three South Australian universities.  

Ongoing education and training for our staff will help ensure that we continue to provide effective, high quality and appropriate services for our consumers.

The Centre for Education and Training provides a wide ranging program of training, education, courses and educational support for CYWHS nursing, midwifery and medical staff and for other health care professionals.

The Hospital also provides opportunities for Year 11 and 12 work experience, tertiary and post graduate placements.

The Children's Hospital School is a state school located at the WCH campus of CYWHS. Schooling is provided for children who are

• in hospital frequently
• expected to be in hospital more than three days
• outpatients unable to attend their own school
• the brothers and sisters of country patients.
