History BooksA Continuing History of the Adelaide Children’s Hospital 1976 – 1989A Continuing History of the Adelaide Children’s Hospital 1976 – 1989, is an important piece of missing history. It was researched and written by Dr Brian Fotheringham, a former Medical Superintendent of the Adelaide Children's Hospital and current chair of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Heritage and History Committee. The previous history of the Hospital, ‘The Adelaide Children’s Hospital 1876 – 1976’, was written by Margaret Barbalet to commemorate the Hospital’s 100 year anniversary. The new book details a record of events and personalities at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital over its next thirteen years as a single entity until it amalgamated with the Queen Victoria Hospital to form the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Our Common BondOur Common Bond provides a history of nurse training at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital from 1876 to 1989, when the hospital amalgamated with the Queen Victoria Hospital. It was researched and written by Marilyn Seidel, a volunteer member of the Heritage and History Committee, and former nurse educator of the Hospital. The training school was a significant institution in the state of South Australia. The production of Our Common Bond has been supported by the Children, Youth and Women’s Health Service.
