Medical Training Opportunities

Pre-Vocational Training

  • Three Medical Interns (Postgraduate Year 1) rotate from the Central Adelaide Local Health Network for 8 week terms in either Neonatal Medicine, Paediatric Emergency Medicine, or Paediatric General Medicine.
  • Resident Medical Officer (Postgraduate Year 2) positions are available with rotations through Paediatric General Medicine, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Neuro/Craniofacial Surgery, ENT Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
  • Orientation includes a series of tutorials, Paediatric Life Support course and/or Obstetric Life Support skills training. There is subsequent supervised clinical training and an ongoing series of teaching activities.
  • A Diploma in Child Health is co-ordinated by the Centre for Education and Training. Trainees in Obstetrics may be eligible to enrol for the Diploma in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RANZCOG) with relevant approvals from the Medical Education Office and the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
