Help

Welcome to the WCH website. There are a number of ways you can use the site to find information about the Women's and Children's Hospital Adelaide.

The Menu System

The Menu Bar across the top of the page allows you to get to any part of the site.  This 'first level menu is visible at all times.

Click on any first level menu item to reveal the second level menus located below the first level.

If there is a third level, it will be visible in the left hand panel when you click on the second level.

So for example, if you want to find out about having your baby at the WCH, you would click on patients and visitors in the first level and on women in the second.  In the left hand panel you can find 'having your baby at the WCH'.

Using the search function

The search function is accessed from the left hand panel. Simply enter one or more words in the box and click on the search button to search through all the documents on the WCH web site.

Locating information on a service.

WCH services can by located using the search function or by searching through the alphabetical listing from the services (first level) menu.

As far as possible, this site has been designed to allow for pages to be printed on A4 size paper. Some Mac users may find that the screen is printed across two pages side-by-side. This problem is easy to fix.

If you are using Netscape Navigator:

  • From the File menu, select Page Setup
  • Pull down the options list and select Netscape Navigator
  • Be sure that Fit to page if possible is checked
  • Click OK to close Page Setup...
  • Print as usual

If you are using Internet Explorer:

  • From the File menu, select Print
  • Pull down the options list and select Internet Explorer
  • Select Shrink Page to Fit
  • Pull down the options list, select General and make any required selections
  • Click Print

With either Internet Explorer or Navigator, you can also print the whole screen by selecting Page Setup from the File menu and changing the scale to 70%.

The WCH site contains many downloadable documents called pdf files. In order to read them you must have the Adobe Reader installed in your browser. It is free and you can obtain it by clicking on the image below.

Reports comprising sets of files are provided in archives (.zip) format and may be opened with a program such as Winzip, PKUNZIP or NetZip. This type of software is often available on the Internet as freeware or shareware.
