On-site accommodation

Limited, basic on-site accommodation is available in the Hospital on floors 4 and 6 of the Samuel Way Building. A daily fee is charged. The SA Patient Assisted Transport Scheme (PATS) can reimburse eligible country patients for some travel and accommodation costs.

Preference is given to families with critically ill children and families from the country. Families may stay in the Samuel Way Building accommodation for one week and then a further stay can be negotiated.

Rooms can accommodate two adults and one child. They contain bed linen and towels, a hand basin, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Shared bathroom facilities are located on both floors. Washing machines, dryers and irons are also available. Rooms are not airconditioned.

There is a communal lounge and kitchen on both floors. Kitchen facilities include a fridge, a stove with hotplates and oven, a microwave, boiling water, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery.

Reservations can be made by phoning (08) 8161 6291 weekdays between 8am-4pm.

When you arrive at the Hospital, ask a staff member to call the Spotless Office (located in the basement of the Good Friday Building) on extension 16289 to organise your key and find out your room number. If you arrive after hours, go to the Children's Emergency Department and ask a staff member to contact the Hospital Coordinator who will arrange for you to be escorted to your accommodation.

No smoking, drinking alcohol or illicit drug use is permitted.
