The WCH is committed to making your visit as comfortable and relaxing as possible - whether you are a patient, family member or a visitor.  We know that being in hospital can be stressful for adults and children and aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible and to ensure that your needs are met.  We encourage you to ask any questions and discuss any concerns that you have.

This site has been designed to provide you with much of the information you will need to get around both the Hospital and the local area.

Information for visitors to Adelaide may be of use before you visit the WCH.

The WCH provides an extensive range of facilities and services for women and children. If you are coming to our Hospital from outside of Adelaide you might like to download our information booklet.

Visitors are important and are welcome in our Hospital. Visiting hours vary according to the needs of individual patients.  Please contact the ward before coming to visit.

To help prevent the spread of infection we ask that people who are unwell or have any of the following infectious illnesses do not visit:

• Cough/cold or sore throat
• Flu like symptoms
• An upset stomach
• Measles
• Chickenpox
• Mumps
• Shingles
• Whooping cough
• Skin infections eg head lice
• Impetigo (school sores)
• Scabies
• Tuberculosis  

The WCH is a smoke free hospital.  Please do not smoke in or near our buildings.
