Held annually in November, White Ribbon Day is Australia's largest awareness day to prevent men’s violence against women.
In 2018, White Ribbon Day will be held on Friday 23 November.
On 19 July 2017, WCHN White Ribbon Ambassador Phil Robinson hosted a special White Ribbon Night morning tea for staff as a way of keeping the conversation going about how, as a White Ribbon Workplace, WCHN can help to end violence against women.
The occasion also provided a forum for staff to learn about some of the support services available to employees and their families should they experience such violence.
Staff across the Health Network were also encouraged to host their own morning or afternoon teas throughout July, as fundraisers for White Ribbon and to further raise awareness of the issue of violence.
In June, WCHN welcomed local artist and domestic violence survivor Angela Lisman to the Women's and Children's Hospital to deliver an address to staff about her experiences and to launch an exhibition of her art works.
