Research Project Grants

Established in 1989, the WCH Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a Board of Directors and incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 1985.

The WCH Foundation is the charity for the benefit of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital (WCH). It works in partnership with the South Australian community to support the Hospital and achieve positive long-term outcomes for women, babies and children. The Foundation's vision is to advance the health and wellbeing of women and children through an ongoing commitment to providing excellence in medical and health care and funding ground-breaking research.

The WCH Foundation Research Project Grants support research into the health of children, youth and women by providing funding for research projects on an annual basis.

Funding for up to $50,000 per project is awarded through a competitive grants process. Applications are called in May for funding in the next calendar year.

Applications will be accepted from staff who hold paid or other appointments at the WCHN, WCHRI and SA Pathology (WCH campus). Members of the WCHN core University Departments (Paediatrics and Obstetrics & Gynaecology) who are located at the WCH site can also apply.

In addition, two grants will be awarded to new researchers based at the WCH Campus, defined as those researchers who have not received previous funding from the WCH Foundation, are post-graduates who have completed a doctoral degree within the last five years and are up to, but not more than, 40 years of age.

The Application form and guidelines for funding for research commencing in 2012 are available below.

Applications will close at: 4pm on Friday, 24 June 2011.  LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
