General Research Considerations

General types of research that may be considered by DMH includes:

· Quantitative
· Qualitative
· Case Studies
· Action Learning
· Action Research
· Evaluation of interventions or programs

Research may involve the following:

· Population/Epidemiological Studies
· Community Development/Public Education

Topics for research within DMH may include, for example

· Special Issues e.g. Domestic Violence, Early Intervention
· Interventions with special groups, e.g. people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, indigenous people, young people under the Guardianship of the Minister, adolescents
· Evaluation of programs or interventions, e.g. Child Protection/Family Partnerships, group programs
