The Breathing SpaceThe Breathing Space will be in a new location at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital – see Map.The Breathing Space is the only respiratory health and disease tertiary referral centre for children (aged 0-18 years), with respiratory disease in SA and extends to the Northern Territory. We specialise in assessing and treating children with all types of respiratory disease and provide specialised lung function testing. We run the only specialised children's lung function laboratory in SA – The Lung Lab. The lab is nationally accredited to provide detailed lung function testing, provocation studies for asthma, allergy testing & screening oximetry for sleep apnoea. Our bronchoscopy service for children utilises both flexible and rigid bronchoscopes, with most procedures done under general anaesthetic. Specific clinical services include:
