Day of Surgery Admissions

Day of Surgery Admissions

Most children or adolescents who are admitted on the day of surgery are admitted to the DOSA (Day of Surgery Admissions) Unit. The admission process will usually involve clerical, nursing and anaesthetic reviews prior to the commencement of surgery. From DOSA each child will go to the operating theatre, and from there to the appropriate post operative ward.

The Surgical Admissions area was redeveloped in 2002 thanks to the generosity of Mr Frank Gilford, in memory of his sister Yvonne, and many other individual donors.
