Women's OutpatientsThe Women's Outpatient Department offers a range of clinical services including: Antenatal Clinic Provides advice and assessment for women with medium to low risk pregnancies. You will be seen by either midwives, doctors in obstetric training programs or obstetric specialists. Clinics are held on Tuesday or Friday morning and afternoons and Wednesday mornings. High Risk Pregnancy Service Provides assessment and management for women with pregnancies complicated by medical, surgical or psychiatric problems or by fetal complications. Care is provided by obstetric consultants. This clinic is held on Wednesday afternoons. Contact (08) 8161 7531 or 7532 for appointments. Young Women's Pregnancy Clinic Provides care and support for young women under 20 years of age who are pregnant. The clinic provides an opportunity for young women to talk to midwives, physiotherapists, social workers, second story personnel and other young women. These meetings are held weekly as needed during school terms. Contact (08) 8161 7591 for appointments. Family Planning Clinic Provides contraceptive advice and planning for pregnancies. Clinic held on Tuesday afternoons. Contact (08) 8161 7592 or 7593 for appointments. Family Advisory Unit Counselling and services for women seeking to terminate a pregnancy. Clinics held on Monday and Thursdays. Contact social work (08) 8161 7580 for appointments. Gynaecology Clinic To assess and arrange treatment for general gynaecology problems. Menopause Clinic Provides information and counselling for women regarding menopause. Clinic held on Monday afternoons. Contact (08) 8161 7592 or 7593 for appointments. Referrals are required from a general practitioner. Colposcopy Clinic Colposcopic assessment and cervical biopsy for women with abnormal cervical appearance or abnormal cytology. When you have your first pregnancy visit at the WCH the midwife who interviews you will offer options of care appropriate to your needs. Refer to the options of care brochure for more information. How to make an appointmentWomen who are pregnant may self refer if they have a positive pregnancy test. For all other clinics a referral from a medical officer is required. A WCH patient registration form will need to be completed prior to your first appointment. This will be sent to you with a letter confirming your appointment date and time.
