Overview of services
The Nursing & Midwifery Clinical Practice Development Unit is located on the 2nd Floor, Samuel Way Building at the WCH campus.
The newly established NMCPDU assists and supports Clinical Practice Development across the Women’s & Children’s Health Network (WCHN) region to develop clinical services that are evidenced based, person centred and family focused.
Clinical Practice Development will be achieved through assisting and supporting nurses and midwives by;

The Nursing & Midwifery Clinical Practice Development Unit was established in June 2011. It supersedes the previous Department of Nursing & Midwifery Research & Practice Development. The Nursing & Midwifery Clinical Practice Development Unit focuses on the development of clinical services to ensure they are evidence based, person centred and family focused. This is achieved by supporting staff to question, challenge and systematically assess current practice and the context of care. The NMCPDU also assists with the development of workplace culture in order to facilitate the professional growth of individuals, improve team work and staff satisfaction and to facilitate service improvement.
