The Fatherhood Project aims to support men in their role as a parent. Part of the Children and Families Integration Service, the program is managed by the Parenting Network and works closely with WCH antenatal staff and midwives to provide support for men who are about to become dads.
This is achieved through groups held for men on the post natal ward where 'new dads' can join with 'dads to be' to discuss early parenting, the role of fathers and what new born babies are like. The program also provides community based courses that address issues relating to father/child relationships. These groups are conducted in the northern and western suburbs of Adelaide. For information about dates and times contact Steve Sheehy on (08) 8243 5544.

'Dads to be' who are attending antenatal classes are referred to the dads session to take part in group discussions about fatherhood.
