Day Surgery Unit
Children admitted to the hospital who are having simple surgical procedures either under anaesthesia or sedation are cared for in the Day Surgery Unit.
Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA)
Most babies, children or adolescents are admitted on the day of surgery via Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA). The process involves a nursing admission, clerical admission and a review by an anaesthetist and sometimes the surgeon prior to the surgery.
Delivery Suite
The Delivery Suite is a 16 bed combined Labour Ward and High Dependency Unit. Care is provided for women by midwives and medical staff during normal labour and birth, and for women experiencing complications before or after the birth of their baby.
Dentistry
The Department of Paediatric Dentistry provides dental services for children including: dental assessment and treatment for children requiring management in hospital; dental care for children under general anaesthetic; emergency after hours treatment.
Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (Allergy and Immunology)
The Department of Allergy and Clinical Immunology helps children with immunodeficiencies or children requiring immunotherapy, and children with allergic conditions such as anaphylaxis, food allergy, severe eczema, and drug and stinging insect allergy.
Department of Urology (Urological Problems)
The Paediatric Urology Department treats children with elective and emergency problems of the kidneys, bladder and genital tract.
Diabetes and Hormonal Disorders
The Endocrinology and Diabetes Centre provides services involving management of growth, thyroid, pituitary, adrenal, pubertal and bone disorders.
Digital Learning and Design
Digital Learning and Design is a team of education specialists, software developers, videographers and designers.
Disability Services (3D Health)
The Women's and Children's Health Network's 3D Health offers support to young people living with disability or complex health needs. Support is also provided to parents and carers, and community services.
Division of Paediatric Medicine (Paediatric Medicine)
The Division of Paediatric Medicine is the largest Women's and Children's Hospital division, and aims to provide high quality health care for children and young people in an environment which meets their needs and the needs of their families.
