Having Your Baby at the WCH

The WCH is South Australia's specialist maternity hospital and provides state of the art obstetric care. Pregnancy is a very special and personal time. The WCH provides a number of choices relating to your pregnancy and childbirth.

Heart Conditions

The Department of Paediatric Cardiology provides cardiology services for children with heart disease in South Australia, the Northern Territory and the far western regions of Victoria and NSW.

Heart Surgery

The WCH provides a heart (cardiac) surgical service for some patients having procedures not requiring cardiac bypass. Referrals for cardiac review and treatment are managed by our Cardiology Department medical and nursing staff.

Home Equipment Centre

Home Equipment Centre supplies equipment to patients of the WCH so they may be cared for at home, rather than in hospital. Items supplied include consumables such as syringes, feeding lines and dressings, and hire equipment such as breast pumps.

Home Oxygen Service

Home Oxygen Service supplies oxygen cylinders and equipment to children who require oxygen therapy at home, and to expectant mothers for homebirth support.

Home Oxygen Service supplies oxygen cylinders and equipment to children who require oxygen therapy at home. Home Oxygen Service liaises with WCH clinicians, clients and suppliers to support provision of home oxygen therapy in home care.

Hospital School SA is a partnership between the Department for Education and the Women's and Children's Health Network, and provides educational programs by focusing on personalised learning through targeted teaching for students and young people.
