What to Bring to Hospital

Women's Anaesthesia

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Anaesthesia provides anaesthetics for elective and emergency surgery, and pain relief for labour, as well as other types of support for women.

Women's Assessment Service

If you are experiencing problems during pregnancy, labour or shortly after childbirth, or other gynaecological problems, the Women's Assessment Service is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. No appointment is necessary.

Women's Emergency (Women's Assessment Service)

Women's Outpatients

The Women's Outpatient Department offers a range of clinical services including Antenatal Clinics, Gynaecology Clinic and a Colposcopy Clinic.

Women's Reception and Admissions

The Women's Reception and Admissions Desk is on the ground floor of Zone F and may be accessed either through the main entrances at Brougham Place or via Kermode Street. Women's Reception is open Monday to Friday 7am – 8.30pm and weekends 9am – 5pm.

Women's and Children's Hospital Upgrade Project

The State Government has invested an additional $30.3 million to complete further upgrades to the existing Women’s and Children’s Hospital, so that we can continue to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

Workforce Development

The WCHN is committed to the training of future generations of health professionals, working collaboratively with other education providers (including South Australian universities), and supporting the enhancement of WCHN staff skills and knowledge.
