The Women's and Children's Hospital is located on the traditional lands for the Kaurna people, and we respect their spiritual relationship with their Country. We also acknowledge that the Kaurna people are the custodians of the Adelaide region, and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

Celebrating excellence at WCHN

Posted 24 Sept 2022

Innovation and embracing technology have shown through as key themes for many of the winners of this year’s WCHN Excellence Awards – CREATE Together.

The awards were held at a ceremony on Friday 23 September attended by Minister for Health and Wellbeing, Chris Picton, Network leaders, Governing Board members, staff, volunteers, consumers and charitable partners.

The event was sponsored by our key charity partner, the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation, along with Police Credit Union and Bowden Printing.

Programs to improve mental health care for women, children and young people, support women during labour and birth and provide innovative care for complex conditions were just some of the groups honoured at the gala dinner.

Chief Executive Office, Lindsey Gough, said it was particularly poignant to see the innovation borne from the COVID-19 pandemic on display.

“The winners of all 11 categories showcased the quality of care we provide at our Network across our community.”

“The fact that these programs were delivered in the midst of a global pandemic is a fantastic display of all that can be achieved when we CREATE together.”

Thank you to everyone who attended the dinner to make it such a special evening and to the South Australian community for your support of our healthcare workers.

In all, 30 finalists were honoured across 10 categories and you can view all the finalists and winners here.
