The Women's and Children's Hospital is located on the traditional lands for the Kaurna people, and we respect their spiritual relationship with their Country. We also acknowledge that the Kaurna people are the custodians of the Adelaide region, and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

Party Week 2023 was a special way of acknowledging our wonderful workers while also bringing fun and colour to our hospital and community sites, with staff invited to dress up in the theme of Colour Your World.

Five different events were held across the week including four community-based morning teas, thanks to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation and a lunch for all staff at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital thanks to Rapid Relief Team.

The result? A kaleidoscope of creativity and colours, creating many smiles for our patients, visitors and families, along with lots of vibrant submissions for the best dressed competition. Highlights included human sized crayons, Care Bears of every colour, M&Ms, and lots of rainbows!

We also managed to squeeze ‘Team Colours Day’ into the week revealing our many footy fans within the Network, which was made extra special thanks to a visit from some AFLW Adelaide Crows players to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital, which brought much excitement to the wards.

A big thank you to all our staff for making Party Week 2023 one to remember and to the organisations who made it possible:

  • Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundation
  • Rapid Relief Team
  • Police Credit Union
  • Maxxia
  • Super SA
  • Adelaide Crows Football Club
