SA Clinical Genetics Service
The SA Clinical Genetics Service provides a clinical genetics and genetic counselling service within South Australia and in neighbouring areas of adjacent states.
The SA Clinical Genetics Service is made up of the Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit based at the Women's and Children's Hospital (WCHN), the Adult Genetics Unit based at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (CALHN) and the Metabolic Clinic at The Women's and Children's Hospital (WCHN). It provides a clinical genetics and genetic counselling service within South Australia and in neighbouring areas of adjacent states.
The Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics unit and the Metabolic Clinic provide services through a network of clinics at the WCH, Flinders Medical Centre, Lyell McEwin Health Service, Port Augusta Hospital, Whyalla Hospital and Mount Gambier Hospital.
How to access this service
To make an appointment at any of our clinic sites, post or fax a referral letter to the relevant unit above. A referral letter from a medical practitioner is required. Referral from other health professionals will be accepted in some circumstances.
Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit
The Paediatric and Reproductive Genetics Unit provides diagnostic and counselling services for genetic disorders which occur during prenatal development or childhood, and for prenatal genetic testing.
