Medical Imaging – Children

SAMI provides a range of imaging services for children at the WCH. SAMI's staff include nurses, radiologists, radiographers, sonographers, nuclear medicine physicians, nuclear medicine technologists, physicists and administrative staff.

SAMI maintains professional links with the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Radiologists, Australian Institute of Radiography and the Australian New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine. Teaching is conducted in co-operation with the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia.

Hours

Outpatients

All medical imaging services for outpatient procedures operate between 8:30am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

Most of these procedures will require a prior appointment and possibly some patient preparation. An information sheet will be sent out with confirmation of your appointment. Please be advised general x-ray requests can be performed without an appointment within these hours.

Emergency

Medical imaging services are offered 24 hours a day 7 days a week on an emergency basis as determined by the attending medical team.
