Home Oxygen Service supplies oxygen cylinders and equipment to children who require oxygen therapy at home, and to expectant mothers for homebirth support. Home Oxygen Service liaises with WCH clinicians, clients and suppliers to support provision of home oxygen therapy in home care.

How to access this service

WCHN Clinicians will send a referral to Home Oxygen Service stating all required equipment and delivery location. Equipment is delivered to patient’s home address and might include oxygen cylinders, concentrator, regulators, cylinder trolleys and carry bags. Parents should be home to receive the first delivery so they can be shown how to assemble and use the equipment safely.

Oxygen cylinders, regulators, flow meters, and concentrators are supplied by BOC-Oxycare, on a rental agreement with WCH. BOC-Oxycare delivers daily (Monday to Friday) in the Adelaide metropolitan area. Deliveries to country areas are usually provided by BOC Agents, and in some occasions collection from the Agent depo might be required.

Oxygen tubing, masks, nasal cannulas and tapes used for Oxygen therapy can be purchased from the Home Equipment Centre as per the quantities stated in the referral provided by WCHN clinicians.

After initial delivery, consecutive oxygen orders can be placed by ringing the WCH Home Oxygen Service at least 24 hours in advance (excluding public holiday and weekends).
