Antenatal and Gynaecology Ward

On the Antenatal Gynaecology Ward, care is provided for women with high risk pregnancies with complications requiring medical support, women with gynaecological problems, and women following surgery.

Care is provided for:

  • Women with high risk pregnancies with complications requiring medical support
  • Women with gynaecological problems
  • Women following surgery

The ward has 22 beds that can be extended to accommodate Postnatal Ward overflow if required.

Antenatal care includes the assessment of maternal and fetal wellbeing, planning for birth, and education.

Gynaecology care includes pre-operative assessment and preparation for surgery, and post-operative care.

Women may be admitted as public, private, or Midwifery Group Practice patients.

Admissions are managed through Women’s Admissions, or Women’s Assessment Service.
