Elective Pre-Admission Coordinator, Surgical Services

The Elective Pre-Admission Coordinator (EPAC) assists in identifying patients with potential clinical, physical and/or emotional concerns prior to admission, and assists with the additional planning required by some patients coming in for a surgical procedure.

This includes:

Pre-planning assists in ensuring the patient and family are well prepared for their hospital stay, streamlines the recovery phase and discharge process and decreases anxiety overall.

These videos are designed for children aged between 3 and 6 years old and 7 and 12 years old.

We understand that coming to hospital can be stressful and your child may be anxious

Our aim is to help you and your child prepare for their surgery or procedure and their stay in hospital whether it be as a day only patient or a longer stay.

Please watch the short video about what to expect when your child is coming to hospital for a surgery or a procedure.

We also have a range of colouring in books which are age related which helps prepare your child for their hospital visit.

If you have any questions about your child’s surgical admission or would like a colouring in book sent to you, please call the Elective Pre-Admission Coordinator on 8161 7714: Monday - Friday, 8-4 pm.
