Referral Guidelines for WCH Outpatient Clinics
These referral guidelines have been specifically developed for Medical Practitioners who are referring patients for specialist outpatient care at the Women's and Children's Health Network.
On this page:
The referral guidelines have been developed to ensure that patients are treated in order of relative priority and in a consistent manner throughout our outpatient services and should be used as a guide only.
The information provided within the referral guidelines will assist in referral management from Medical Practitioners to hospital specialists. This process will facilitate the following improvements in referral management for WCHN:
- reduce number of inappropriate referrals
- provide specialist assessment and treatment more efficiently
- reduce waiting time for outpatient based on clinical need.
