Nursing and Midwifery

Nurses 1

The Women's and Children's Hospital employs Registered Nurses, Midwives, Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and Assistants in Midwifery.

Orientation and professional development

All Nursing and Midwifery staff will receive corporate and professional orientation. All staff will also receive ward/unit-based orientation and ongoing support from clinical educators.

Nursing staff employed in paediatric areas who have little or no paediatric experience, or who would benefit from updating existing knowledge, will have access to the Paediatric Foundations Studies course which provides basic knowledge and skills to assist staff working in the paediatric health environment.

Nurses and Midwives are able to access ongoing professional development the through the WCHN Centre of Education and Training.
