TMO Positions (PGY2+, Prevocational) opportunities across SA Health

SA Health has a centralised approach to receiving applications for any additional Trainee Medical Officer (PGY2+, Prevocational) vacancies, managed through SA MET. If you wish to be considered for a prevocational role in any health unit in SA Health, you are required to submit an application via an online application process.

To access the online application form please logon to the SA Health Careers website, click on the SA Health Medical Recruitment Tile, and open the Trainee Medical Officers link where you will find additional information and the online application form for Prevocational Trainee Medical Officer (PGY2+) Recruitment. The positions relevant to WCHN that are included in this process are:

Prevocational Resident Program

  • Positions that work in Paediatrics for 6 months, and Obstetrics and Gynaecology for 6 months

Prevocational Obstetrics and Gynaecology

  • Positions that spend 12 months working in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

In addition to the above, the following positions are also advertised through SA Health Careers as separate positions that you will need to submit a separate application for:

  • Paediatric 1st Year Trainee
  • Surgical Resident Medical Officer
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology Service Registrar

Applications for all of the above-mentioned positions usually open in May of the preceding year. Each year at this time, the Medical Education and Trainee Medical Officer Units host an information evening about the application process for these roles.
